1140 Yonge Street condo is certain to be a landmark redevelopment anchored by the restoration of a historical building currently at this address. The fabulous location is where two of Toronto's best neighbourhoods, Summerhill and Rosedale converge. This anticipated 1140 Yonge Street condo building will be located on the west side of Yonge Street just south of the Summerhill LCBO. This proposed condo will be built on the site of 1140 Yonge Street that was most recently a Staples office supply store.
1140 Yonge Street condos building design will be artfully executed by Audax Architecture with ERA Architects as the Heritage Architect. Ronald Holbrook and Associates are the landscape architects. 1140 Yonge Street Condos will have it's own community within a community with 14,000 metres of retail space on the 1st and 2nd floors and 66 condominium residences above. There are three townhouses on Marlborough Street that will provide transition to the homes on the street. This will building will be sensitive to the existing building's history while adding new panache to this sleepy corner.
Minutes from Rosedale and Summerhill Subway stations, 1140 Yonge Street condo will be integrated into these top neighbourhoods in cental Toronto, just minutes to Rosdale, Summerhill, Yonge -St. Clair and Yorkville. This condo development looks to restore the existing facade that was originally the Pierce-Arrow building, a luxury car showroom built in 1930 that has been listed as a municipal heritage property. The infamous stone arch facade still remains on Yonge Street and adds character to the area. This Toronto building found much of it's fame with the CBC as it's tenant and was used as a studio to film popular Canadian TV shows.
This famous Toronto building with it's important history will now be home to a new pre-construction transit-oriented condo development that is situated within walking distance of no less than three subway stations. A Yonge Street address north of Bloor Street means this condo will offer residents easy access to the financial district and Yorkville. The proposal will provide beautiful luxury condos, however details of this development and site are not finalized.
